Suzuki History
Suzuki started business in 1909 as Suzuki Loom Works and was incorporated as a firm in 1920. Since its foundation in Hamamatsu, Japan, Suzuki has grown steadily and expanded.
During the post WWII period, Suzuki's motorized bike - the Power Free - earned a reputation for quality and reliability. It was followed up by the 125 cc Colleda motorcycle and the pioneering Suzulight lightweight car that stimulated Japan's automotive revolution.
Each of these vehicles were significant developments as they were engineered by optimising the most advanced technologies of the period.
Suzuki has carved out an enviable motorsport heritage with a stable including world champions Barry Sheene, Kevin Schwantz, Ricky Carmichael and Monster Tajima.
In 2008 Suzuki entered the World Rally Championship with the SX4 hatch, building on a highly successful Junior World Rally Championship campaign with the all-conquering Swift.
The Suzuki trademark is recognised throughout the world as a brand producing quality products offering outstanding value and reliability.
Today, the Suzuki name is seen on a full range of automobiles, motorcycles, outboard motors and related products such as generators and motorised wheelchairs.
